I Am Worth the Speedo

I Am Worth the Speedo

@miguelrios90_ said “Wearing a Speedo again was something I never thought I would do again. Whether it was self-battles that include comparison or low confidence, I struggled, fit or not, it seemed far from happening. The struggle was tougher when I would compare myself to others. Being part of the fitness industry and mental health field I often find myself with similar battles of those who I lead or work with to improve their quality of life. I had to learn to be kind and compassionate with myself.  After battles of weight gain, loss, injury, self sabotage, comparison or criticism, I decided to let go and wear the speedo. Sure, stretch marks and folds are all over or perhaps well placed when I took the picture, but accepting my body felt incredibly amazing and comfortable. There is more work to do in terms of acceptance, I recognize that I am worth the speedo and the kindness. Thank you for this space that allows me to see my own light.”
